If you have not been informed yet, it is with regret that I have to inform you that Lt Gen Jack Dutton passed away at 0230 on Tu 29 Nov 11.

Enlisted in the Union Defence Force 1947 in the South African Armoured Corps.
Commissioned in 1949. Seconded to the British Army for Korean service.
Commanded 2 Armoured Car Regiment and 1 Special Service Battalion.
Officer Commanding Eastern Province Command. Director Armour.
Chief of Army Staff.
Chief of Staff Operations.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Chile.
Passed away 29 November 2011.
