REPORT ON LT GEN JACK DUTTON

4/11/2011

It is with regret that we must report that Lt Gen Jack Dutton has experienced further setbacks due to the progression of his disease, and is now for all practical purposes housebound. He has an appropriate caregiver to assist in his management, and is reasonably comfortable most of time.(He is able to receive visitors, but for obvious reasons in limited numbers.) Our thoughts are with this old War-Horse.

As you are all aware, our Master Crew Commander, Lt Gen Jack Dutton, has being going through a rather torrid time, health wise, of late.

Just recently, he has undergone various intensive medical examinations, including a series of sophisticated scans and the results seem to have confirmed the following:

Gen Dutton's situation can be traced back to August 2010 when he had a Melanoma removed from his back and this was followed by the removal of the lymph glands in the armpit. You will recall that he has done very well since then but has more recently been experiencing severe pains in his lower back and right hip.

The results of the examinations that were done during the last two weeks or so have now revealed that a Lumbar Vertebra suffered damage incurred in a recent fall and has superimposed on a localized recurrence of the Melanoma.

He is now, thankfully, reasonably comfortable with appropriate medication and going about his business as usual, albeit at a more leisurely pace

Let us all continue to hold Uncle Jack up to the Lord in our Prayers.
